Oh summer, oh heat. I think it's always crucial to have a few summer proof products that won't leave your skin a royal and shiny mess. I will be putting away my Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation because the formula is a little too liquidy for this time of the year. I stopped by Bobbi Brown (when I was in Seoul over the weekend) and had a little pamper session and got a little make over. The consultant was so cheery and helpful. I settled on Bobbi Brown Foundation Stick (it's so very matte!), and this is perfect for those unlucky enough to be prone to oily skin. I got a new thing of Shimmer Brick Compact in Rose - a huge must have - if you're one who does not like an obvious blush coloring that really shows but a nice tint and some shimmer, this is for you. I've heard all the obsession over their Long Wear Gel Liner, from people, magazines, and online, so I thought why not. I haven't used it yet, and it'll be my first time trying gel liner. I hope it lives up to its expectations and I can't wait to try it out!
For my gel eye-liner I needed a brush, so I went to Skin Food . I purchased their gel eye-liner brush and a concealer brush. I didn't think it was necessary to buy the concealer brush (I even put it back a couple times), but I thought maybe the concealer might make the application look better instead of using my fingertips. Skin Food is a cosmetic brand that originated here in Korea and it is lush! Their products are all based on something natural. I got samples for a Black Sugar Strawberry Mask Wash off (the scrub even had the strawberry seeds in it!) and an Egg White Pore Foam. I've bought quite a few brushes here and they are very durable. You can find so many cute products like Milkshake Makeup Remover, Celery Gel Wax, and even Avocado Rich Toner.
Ayur Herbal Shampoo Amla & Shikakai with Reetha for Normal Hair is heaven in a bottle. When you think of the women of India or the surrounding countries and their hair, the only thing that comes to mind is long, thick, lustrous Black shiny hair. My best friend Soumya, (who by the way deserves a HUGE congratulations because she landed an internship with HARPERS BAZAAR this summer!) - has hair just like that, and I asked her for some tips. The secret? There is no secret. Just a popular shampoo (which of used of her once randomly) and organic virgin Coconut Oil. Coconut Oil is prized (I mentioned it here) and used for cooking, body and hair care. All you do is massage and leave in the coconut oil in your hair, preferably for a few hours, if not overnight (which is what I do), and you wash it out in the morning with this (or another) shampoo. I used the Ayur Shampoo today and it has a mild clean scent to it, and I can say my hair is already a little more soft and my curls look great.
