We're always in a rush, aren't we? In this hectic chaos called life and juggling school, work, and whatever other hobbies, all we need is a little time to stop and smell the roses. This past Sunday evening I enjoyed a rare and slow paced time. In a city that I know so well that is always a flash of people and lights, I noticed everything new; cafes, stores, and restaurants. My brother and I walked through the market and ate delicious rice cake coated with flaked coconut and nuts, browsed through a thrift store, and was haggled with promising prices of cheap fruits, vegetables, and meat. The evening was not wasted as we made our way to the book store and I stopped by Chanel to find some red lip stick and I finally found my first shade. It really did take me surprise that a city I am so familiar with became almost new as I slowed my steps down and opened my eyes to everything around me. I saw a very comfortable looking cafe with tall shelves of books lining the walls - I think I will be stopping by very soon.
