A day with JORD Watches

Seoul, South Korea

Seoul greeted us with a refreshing, beautiful, and sunny day. I picked the locations of Insa-dong and Hanok Bukchon Village to shoot a few photos with a beautiful watch I received from JORD. With so many beautiful watches to choose from, I settled on the Sully in Cherry and Maple - a perfect watch to wear for all occasions day or night. JORD specializes in wooden watches and I bet they have the perfect model for you. I've fallen in love with their newer women watches, especially with the Swarovski crystal details and feminine colors.

This was my first time visiting Bukchon Hanok Village, but I've been to Insa-dong many times.  It's home to hundreds of traditional houses called 'hanok' and go back to the Joseon Dynasty. People live in these houses and I can only imagine how they transformed and modernized the inside of it. Not only do these hanoks house residents, but you can find a assortment of guesthouses, restaurants and tea houses - it's the perfect opportunity to be able to enjoy and experience a part of Koreas traditional culture. As we ascending higher through the neighborhood, we took in the view of the shingled roofs, and the mountains and high rises beyond, we are reminded just how beautiful life is if you just take the time to sit back and enjoy what is around you. Bukchon Hanok Village is one of the many parts of Seoul and Korea that I am proud of to have visited as part of my Korean-American culture and birth place. Seoul never fails to captivate the lucky visitors who are immersed into a city of tradition, temples, sky scrapers, delicious food choices, and shopping. Don't forget about Insa-dong (a paradise for boutiques lovers, cafes goers, dreamers, and the artistic people) and Bukchon Hanok Village

Korean and Italian Food

Our day didn't stop at photo-shooting and exploring, we dined at two restaurants. Italian Cafe Hu's Deli (Italian Food) was a cozy restaurant with a unique menu of pasta dishes - I ordered a cream of mushroom spaghetti dish and enjoyed every bite of it. A little bit of more sight-seeing, we found a Korean restaurant where we were welcomed warmly by the hosts and ordered a steaming bowl of 비빔밥(bibimbap) that came with a delicious assortment of 반찬 (side dishes).

A Shoppers Paradise

A day in Seoul is never completed without a little retail therapy. I always make the time to visit Kiehl's and Lush Cosmetics in Insa-dong. The boutiques located throughout Insa-dong showcase styles for everyone and the accessory stores and cosmetic shops are absolutely heaven; some favorite and famous Korean cosmetic brands that many of you may find familiar are Etude House, Innisfree, Tony Moly and Skin Food. The rocker, boho chic, office lady, prep, and over-sized clothes lover will all be able to find something and at reasonable prices. One of the best stores are the W10,000 stores ($10) where you can find clothes and accessories at low prices. All shoppers go into a frenzy at these places, and it's so hard not to get carried away by all the choices and cheap prices.
