Thanks to the bi-polar weather of December from light rain showers to heavy snows, the weather shows no mercy to ones lips, and it's becoming increasingly evident these past days here with the abrupt dropping temperatures. It's extremely unattractive to put on some lipstick only to step out into the cold and have them instantly dry, clump and flake. Why must winter be so cruel on our lips?

I know I should prep my lips and take a little more care during these bitter months, but sometimes you forget these things. These days the only beauty items that are used every hour are hand creams and lip balms; I absolutely can't resist the smells of L'Occitane and Burt's Bees products. I've recently been introduced to lip scrubs and I find them very effective. There are a few easy at home remedies you can do and you can easily find these items around the house right now; you can use a soft bristle toothbrush and brush it over your lips in circular motions, or make a DIY scrub of brown sugar and honey or coconut oil.

What are some of your favorite lip products and lip treatments for the winter?
