A Day With Friends

This past Friday I met up with my friend Daniel (who is visiting from Taiwan) and his friend who is living in Seoul. I was so thrilled to have a friend visiting from out of the country who I could show around Seoul and be tour guide.

With so many different sites and neighborhoods to choose from, I had a tough time thinking about where to go in one day. I thought about showing him a mix of the new and old and settled on Itaewon, Bukchon Hanok Village, Gyeongbukgung Palace and Insadong. We started the morning looking around Itaewon since it was an easy meeting point. After that we made our way to Bukchon Hanok Village to enjoy a more traditional side of Korea. Daniel had his first samgyeopsal (Korea BBQ) eating experience, and the side dishes were so delicious! When we had our lunch we walked to Gyeongbokgung Palace (a must see for everyone) and after spending a good amount of time there we ended the day exploring Insadong. Such a wonderful time with friends and I can only hope that other friends make their way to Korea so I can show off a little bit of my home country.
